Your 2018 club officers/committee (including vacancies) are:

Chairman/Head Coach:Chris Coates

Many years of experience in both Rugby League and Rugby Union. Experience playing and coaching, most recently at Sherwood Wolf Hunt. Setup/assisted setup of multiple Rugby League clubs across the country. Previous Sheffield Forger and club man of steel in 2009.

Will ensure order at meetings and lead meetings.

Will ensure progression and direction of the Club from a Rugby League perspective. 

Assistant Coach : Simon Travis

Many years of experience in both Rugby League and Rugby Union. Experience playing and coaching; most recently at Sheffield Oak RUFC Simon originally coached at Sheffield Forgers in 2007 and had plenty of experience in other Rugby League administrations including the old Hillsborough Hawks and South Yorkshire series area.

Simon has also been fortunate enough to be selected to represented Great Britain and Ireland whilst playing at Hillsborough Hawks.

Trainer(s): Gavin Draper / Steve Dalton

Gavin is a current Sheffield Forger - Lots of experience in Rugby League circles and is now looking to move forward within the game as part of the backroom staff.

Steve has had plenty of experience in good Rugby League setups (including the old Hillsborough Hawks) over the years and is now looking to progress in the backroom. 

Vice Chair/Publicity Officer: Zack Wilson

Many years of experience in both Rugby League and Union. Experienced and respected journalist in the Rugby League arena with many contacts within the sport.

In absence of Chair will undertake Chair role.

Will ensure that publicity and exposure of the club is kept high, at both local and national level. 

Secretary/Social Secretary: John Horne

Current Sheffield Forger - Many years of experience in both Rugby League and Rugby Union. Experience of back room environment when it comes to coaching and administration of ice skating at all levels up to elite level. Many links with local sporting organisations.

Will ensure meeting minutes taken and documented appropriately. Will be sent to all officers of the club. Will organise fixtures with the league and other teams.

Will organise club social events and ensure engagement within the club.

Fundraising Officer: Ann Teather

Experienced fundraiser who has come into the club to assist with raising vital funds. Previously involved at the local ice hockey academy in Sheffield and was also a team manager with many years of experience.

Will co-ordinate all fundraising activities and sponsorship. As a result any major sponsorship deal (over £1000) will be entitled to a 5% 

Treasurer: Daniel Capewell

Daniel has come to us with years of experience, predominantly in University setups. He was elected as the Vice President of the Students Union at Leeds Trinity and had overall responsibility for all representative BUCS teams ranging from arranging fixtures to supporting the volunteer club committees to ensure that they fulfilled their Constitutional obligations.

Will ensure books are kept and control club funds. Will not release funds without the sign-off of at least two other officers. Will vet funding requests where necessary to ensure the best deal is being got for the club, and where necessary log down any situation where this is not the best financial deal and the reasoning why this option has been taken.

Equipment Manager: Vacant

We're looking for somebody who will keep an equipment inventory, research prices for any equipment, with appropriate finance release requests to treasurer to purchase. Searching for the best deal for the club wherever possible. Somebody who is able to attend to assist with the setup on match days as well as helping make sure the kit is safely stored away. Think you're up to the task? Get in touch...

We're looking for somebody who can help us in our mission to grow Rugby League within the Steel City. Somebody who's social media savvy who can be an ambassador for the Club and its ethos. Volunteer Coordinator: Sophie Williams

Sophie arrives at the club with years of experience in and around rugby clubs, most recently at Worksop RUFC. Sophie comes with very much a can-do attitude and approach and will be a welcome addition to the club.

Will co-ordinate all other volunteers on match days and during events to ensure success of activities.

Matchday Volunteer(s): Vacant

This position is available! If you want to get involved and have experience of volunteering at sports clubs on a matchday (everything from greeting people at the door to putting banners up, to helping set out the pitch, to running a kicking tee on or water on during a match), volunteer! We'd love to hear from you.

Physiotherapist: Nick Roberts

Current Sheffield Forger - Runs his own successful physiotherapy company - Steel City Physiotherapy. Many years of experience in and around Rugby League and a current club sponsor! If you need patching up or looking at? Nick is your man.
